QuickConvert for Mac Open QuickConvert.app, drop one or more .mov files onto the window, then click Convert to MP4. You can also click the drop area to browse. MP4 files are saved beside their originals unless you choose another folder. Existing files are never overwritten; matching output names receive a number. Click Show to reveal a finished MP4 in Finder, then import it into Premiere Pro. The app runs locally and uses the FFmpeg and ffprobe already installed on this Mac. No uploads or account required. This build is for Apple silicon, macOS 14 or later. It is locally signed for this Mac, not notarized for distribution to other people. Keep FFmpeg installed at /opt/homebrew/bin or /usr/local/bin. Output: H.264 video and AAC audio at 192 kb/s per audio track. Compatible H.264/yuv420p video is copied without video re-encoding for speed. Other SDR video is encoded at CRF 18 with the fast x264 preset. The app keeps the source frame timing and dimensions (odd dimensions are rounded down by one pixel). It keeps the first video track and all audio tracks. It does not retain subtitles, alpha transparency, or editing metadata such as timecode. HDR footage is detected and declined to avoid incorrect colors. This simple converter targets SDR footage. H.264 encoding is lossy when re-encoding is required. Conversion speed depends on your source video and its size. Checked with generated ProRes + PCM audio and H.264 clips, silent video, invalid files, existing output protection, output decoding, and a conversion through the app window. Premiere Pro import itself was not tested. Editable Swift source and rebuild script are included in QuickConvert-Source. FFmpeg documentation: https://ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg.html
